The PlanSmart Financial Advice Process

 

At PlanSmart, we ensure that getting the right advice is as easy as possible.

 

During the Financial Advice process, we undertake the following steps to provide you with a solution tailored to your needs:

 

Step 1 - Introduction, Fact Finding and Needs Analysis
We start by providing and explaining our Financial Services Guide, as well as our advice process and other services that we offer. We will then need to better understand your needs and objectives in order to provide you with appropriate advice. The information collected at this stage assists us in preparing and providing you with suitable advice. If you have a specific requirement, it is here that this information is collected.
Step 2 - Research and Preparation of Recommendations
This step involves an analysis of your needs and objectives in order to determine recommendations as to how to meet them. For example, recommending a suitable Superannuation or Insurance solution involves researching your existing products and comparing them to other products available in the industry in order to make a recommendation on an appropriate product to suit your needs. We then produce a report confirming our recommendations. This is called a Statement of Advice.
Step 3 - Presenting the Statement of Advice
This step involves meeting with you again, going through your Statement of Advice and explaining the recommendations made. The purpose of this is to ensure you understand the recommendations and have an opportunity to consider them prior to proceeding with the recommendation. The products recommended are also explained and you will be provided a Product Disclosure Statement, which outlines the product features.
Step 4 - Implementation and Follow Up
Once you decide to proceed, this step involves implementing the advice and handling the application process on your behalf from beginning to end. We take all the steps necessary to ensure that all the hard work such as filling in forms and liasing with the product providers involves as little effort as possible for you.
Step 5 - Ongoing Reviews
This involves a regular review of your circumstances every 12 months after implementation, or as requested by you. This will help to ensure that you are kept up-to-date with any changes in products and legislation, and that you receive appropriate advice as your lifestyle and circumstances change.
